Child seats and booster seats cost nothing on a Fastlane transfer. Not a discount, not a promotion. They are part of the fare.
Add your child's age when you book. The right seat is chosen and fitted before your driver sets off, so it is already in the car when it reaches you.
That applies both ways. Out to the terminal and back from arrivals, on any vehicle in the fleet, from the saloon up to the eight-seater.
| Included in your fixed fare | Detail |
|---|---|
| Child and booster seats | Free, fitted on request, any vehicle |
| All Heathrow drop-off and pickup charges | Nothing to pay at the airport |
| Flight tracking on arrivals | Your driver follows the actual landing time |
| Waiting time after you land | 45 minutes free, then £20 an hour |
Meet and greet, where your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, is a separate £20 option. It is not part of the standard fare and it is not needed to have a seat fitted.
Plenty of operators treat a child seat as a chargeable extra, or as something the driver may or may not have in the boot. Neither applies here.
You do not have to work this out yourself. Give your child's age at booking and the right seat is selected for you. The table is here so you know what to expect.
| Seat type | Suits |
|---|---|
| Rear-facing infant carrier | Newborn to around 15 months |
| Forward-facing seat with harness | Around 15 months to 4 years |
| High-back booster | Around 4 to 12 years, or up to 135cm |
Every seat we fit carries R44 or R129 approval. R129, also called i-Size, is the newer standard. You will find the marking on the shell of the seat.
Travelling with more than one child? Say so when you book. Two seats fit comfortably across the rear bench of a saloon, and the six-seater takes three with room left for luggage.
This is the part an app or a taxi rank cannot do. A vehicle you have not booked arrives with whatever is already in it.
Your booking carries your child's age and your flight number. The seat goes in before the driver leaves for the airport. We track the flight, so a delay moves the pickup rather than costing you the booking.
The office sends your driver's details ahead of arrival. You can contact each other directly from that point.
Heathrow does not allow waiting at the kerb. Your driver waits in the short-stay car park instead, which is a short signposted walk from arrivals.
| Terminal | Where your driver waits |
|---|---|
| Terminal 2 | Short Stay Car Park 2 |
| Terminal 3 | Short Stay Car Park 3 |
| Terminal 4 | Short Stay Car Park 4 |
| Terminal 5 | Short Stay Car Park 5 |
You get 45 minutes of free waiting from the moment you land, which covers passport control and baggage on most arrivals. After that it is £20 an hour, charged pro rata.
Connect to the free Heathrow Wi-Fi and message your driver on WhatsApp. It works from anywhere in the terminal.
Meet and greet is available for £20. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name board and walks out with you. It is optional, and the seat is fitted either way.
No. Licensed taxis and private hire vehicles are exempt from the child car seat requirement. A child under 3 may travel in the rear without a seat, and a child aged 3 or over may use an adult belt.
There is a condition. Once a suitable seat is fitted, it must be used, for any child under 12 or under 135cm.
So the seat we fit is not optional once it is in the car.
For the rules by age, and what happens with black cabs and ride-hailing apps, see our guide to child car seats in taxis under UK law.
Child seats are free in every vehicle, so the choice comes down to people and luggage.
| Vehicle | Best for |
|---|---|
| Saloon | Up to 4 passengers. Two child seats fit across the rear |
| Business Class | Mercedes E Class or BMW 5 Series. Same capacity, more comfort |
| 6-Seater MPV | Three seats across, plus a buggy and full luggage |
| 8-Seater MPV | Larger groups, ski and golf trips, extended family |
The saloon works for most families. It stops working at the point where you have two child seats, four suitcases and a buggy, which is where the six-seater earns its cost.
If you are not sure, tell us how many are travelling, how many need seats, and roughly how much luggage. We will tell you which vehicle fits.
Heathrow transfers start at £38 for a saloon. Adding a child seat does not change that figure.
| What you pay | Detail |
|---|---|
| Saloon, from | £38 |
| Child or booster seat | Free |
| Heathrow drop-off and pickup charges | Included |
| Larger vehicle | Quoted at booking |
The fare is fixed when you book. It does not move for traffic, for time of day, or because you booked at short notice. There is no surge pricing and nothing to settle at the airport.
For fares on specific routes, see our Heathrow taxi prices guide.
A folded buggy goes in the boot alongside your cases. In a saloon that works with two cases, not four. If you are travelling with a buggy and a full holiday load, book the six-seater and stop thinking about it.
Tell us at booking either way, so the driver knows what is coming.
You are welcome to use your own. Some parents prefer the seat their child already knows, particularly on a long journey.
It needs to fit the vehicle and be fitted correctly, so let the office know in advance. On the way out, remember the seat then has to be checked in at the airport and collected at the far end.
Most families going away find it easier to leave theirs at home and use ours.
No. Child seats and booster seats are free on every Fastlane transfer, in both directions and in any vehicle. The seat is part of the fare, not an add-on.
Add your child's age at the booking stage. That tells us which seat to fit. If you have already booked, call the office on 0161 660 9647 and we will add it.
Yes. The seat goes in before your driver leaves for the airport, so it is in the car when it reaches you. There is nothing to assemble at arrivals.
Two seats fit across the rear bench of a saloon. For three seats, or two seats plus a buggy and full luggage, book the six-seater. Tell us the ages of all children travelling.
Yes. It needs to fit the vehicle and be fitted correctly, so let the office know in advance. Bear in mind it then has to be checked in and collected at the far end.
In a saloon, a folded buggy fits alongside two cases. With a full holiday load, choose the six-seater. Mention the buggy at booking so the driver expects it.
No. Licensed taxis and private hire vehicles are exempt. Once a suitable seat is fitted, though, it must be used for any child under 12 or under 135cm.
A six-seater MPV. Five passengers plus holiday luggage does not fit a saloon, and the six-seater takes three child seats across if you need them.
Add your child's age and the right seat is fitted before your driver sets off. Free, on every transfer, both ways.
